1998 Merit Award In Excellence in 'Xeriscape'

RIVER BEND OFFICE PARK - Ft. Collins, Colorado

The River Bend Office Park is located next to the Poudre River. The design concept was to try and harmoniously blend the proposed xeriscape design with the natural beauty of the native surroundings. Plant materials were carefully selected for their native qualities to the site. Several types of mulches were used for added interest and low volume irrigation was used throughout the site. The employee patio is very natural and informal, trying to blend in with the Poudre River landscape. Massive flagstone outcroppings are used to accent the planting beds and also serve as "sitting rocks" for employees and visitors alike. Planting beds are filled with a variety of native grasses, shrubs, perennials, and wildflowers for an attractive display all season long.
