The Templar residence is located on a high-profile corner lot of a prestigious golf course community. The views toward the golf course and the mountains are magnificent, but the east side of the home, which slopes dramatically to the street, needed to be balanced with the natural beauty surrounding it. Drystack retaining walls with boulders were used to maintain the slope and steps were added to create street access. The front entry transitions beautifully to the side yard with a subtle interplay of rocks and plants. The planting beds flow into green turf, which in turn flows onto the golf course. There is a pleasing balance between the hard surfaces of the boulders and stone walls and the softness introduced by the plants...an excitement created by the colors and textures in the stone juxtaposed against the vibrant changing hues of the perennials.
